Grant Round 45:

Opens on 9 February 2026 and closes Monday 20 April 2026 (10am Brisbane time) for the following grant schemes:

  • Jumpstart (up to $50,000 for a maximum term of one year)
  • Leading Edge (up to $120,000 for a maximum term of two years)
  • Project (up to $300,000 for a maximum term of three years)
  • TranslatED Research (up to $120,000 for a maximum term of two years)
  • Research Capacity Building (up to $100,000 for a maximum term of three years)

Opens on 9 February 2026 and closes Tuesday 5 May 2026 (10am Brisbane time) for the following grant scheme:

  • Emerge (up to $12,000 for a maximum term of one year)

EMF has become aware that there have been technical issues on some of the uploading files and submitting application on SmartyGrants in Leading Edge grant scheme in Round 45.
Please ensure you have the required files uploaded for the following fields, as we have temporarily set them as 'response optional':
  • Principal Investigator's CV (Question F13)
  • Co-Investigator's CV (Question G2)
  • Certification Document (Question I1)

Please let us know as soon as possible if you encounter any technical issues, we will try to resolve them as soon as possible.

Grant Round 6 is now open with the following grant on offer:

  • Research grants close on Monday 6 July 2026 (10am Brisbane time)
